Playful STEAM with Amanda Strawhacker
A special summer workshop series for parents & little ones (ages 6–36 months)
 
Join us for a joyful and eye-opening STEAM-based playgroup led by Amanda Strawhacker, early childhood STEAM expert, mom of a curious 2 year old, and author of Playful STEAM. These 45-minute sessions are designed to help you see your child’s play in a whole new way, like a scientist observing another scientist at work!
 
Together, we’ll explore how to follow your little one’s natural curiosity and use everyday materials to spark early science, tech, engineering, art, and math thinking. No fancy toys or pressure needed, just simple and developmentally appropriate ways to make playtime more meaningful for both of you.
 
Amanda is the author of the new book, "Playful STEAM in the Early Years", published by Teacher's College Press.  She brings decades of research to life in a way that feels easy, fun, and totally doable for busy parents. Her work shows us how to support our children’s learning throughplay, not in spite of it and how to tune into what they’re really working on as they build, stack, explore, and investigate.
